Fall is coming! But guess what. You might have a few more months of hot weather to get through before you break out the sweaters and moto jackets. So here’s a tip. Check out the summer clearance at brands you love and pick up some basics that are going to keep you cool for now but can be layered up and transitioned as the weather changes. You can watch my youtube video if you prefer, but I have more styling tips below in this post.
Old Navy and Gap are having an epic sale. At the time I am writing this post Gap is take 40% off with code FRIEND and an additional 10% with code SCORE, even on clearance items! Old navy has 40% off applied automatically at check out and jeans are 50% off. For my Guam friends, Gap brands ship to Guam and honor free shipping if you meet the minimum ($50). Even if you are reading this post later, Gap and Old Navy always have some kind of code or discount going you just have to check the website.
All right guys, nothing says summer to fall like a sweater tank. I’m in love with this light purple color too. Wearing a sweater tank is a great way to celebrate the fall season when in reality you are mid heat stroke.
The back is beautiful too with a v neckline. It’s super flattering and will help to keep you cool. I paired it with shorts I got at the beginning of the summer and I will never stop wearing them.
I want to show you this linen tunic. It’s more versatile than I initially assumed. You can wear it tucked into shorts, over skinny jeans or leggings, and I even plan to wear this as a pool cover up over my swimsuit.
It’s so pretty with skinny jeans too! Leggings are also an option. My tubular slides are from Old Navy. The neutral caramel color will transition nicely to fall. I sized up 1/2 size to a 9 and they fit perfectly.
This next wrap top is a soft and buttery sweater material in a unique blue color. The cut is so flattering, the material feels so nice, and the little ruffle on the sleeve is adorable. The quality is amazing and I can’t believe I snagged this for about $6. There’s also a little hook closure at the chest. It’s perfect for breastfeeding mamas!
I refreshed my little tee shirt collection with some pretty squash and olive striped tees. These are so soft and comfy and can be layered with a cardigan or paired with black denim to make them perfect for fall. I got both in a size medium. These black strappy slides are true to size. My black jeans are thrifted high rise Everlane jeans. They’re great quality.
I love the look below with boyfriend jeans and a really minimal bootie (from Ross). I love the Old Navy boyfriend jeans. They are more fitted like a slim straight jean and way more comfortable than a skinny jean. I’ve had this pair for forever but I’ll link a very similar pair here.
Or you could do a pretty fall colored flat! These flats have laser cutouts and are so comfortable. I usually don’t like ballet flats because they rub and require a break in period but these are comfortable from the second you put them on. The brand is white mountain (got it at Ross!) and I recommend them if you have the same issues as I do.
I tried the Gap vintage tee and it’s a soft and light weight 100% cotton tee with a V neck (always flattering). They have a ton of colors but I can’t seem to get away from pinks and purples and I wear them year round. I paired this shirt with pretty blue cut out booties by Franco Sarto. They’re a few years old but you get the idea.
Add a cardigan and bam! All you need is a pumpkin spice latte. My exact long line cardigan is sold out but I linked a super similar one. I’m wearing a size medium. It’s also cute with denim shorts!
One of my favorite outfit combinations is long sleeves with denim shorts. So adorable! These are some of the softest light weight long sleeves shirts I’ve ever tried. They are more comfortable than pajamas.
They have a cute split detail at the hem and also at the sleeves. They’re long enough to wear with leggings! You guys have to check out these Old Navy moto leggings. So cute and I got them for $16. If you look and they are full priced just wait because Old Navy often has a 50% off leggings and active wear deal.
These leggings have a little bit of compression. I’m wearing a size medium and they are flattering and comfortable.
Okay, now let’s move on to jumpsuits. The peach color of this wide leg jumpsuit is so yummy! They also have it in black and gray. Usually I have to get a tall in jumpsuits and rompers but this is a regular medium and it’s perfect!
Throw on a denim jacket or button down shirt for cooler weather. You could also take off the fabric belt and replace it with a brown leather belt.
This next jumpsuit is my favorite! I love that florals can be worn year round these days. I did have to get a size small tall and I’m 5’7″ for reference. This can be worn so many ways. Just plain with the fabric belt . . .
Or you can dress with up with an embellished belt, some heels and a pretty feaux leather jacket. If you have a nice event to go to in August or September I think this outfit would be so adorable!
This next jumpsuit has colors that are perfect for fall. I accidentally got a medium tall and it’s a bit big. Oops!
It’s so comfy and the fabric has a nice weight to it. Sadly the belt is not removable it’s sewn in at the side.
I love the modern twist on polka dots in this jumpsuit. Again I’m wearing a small tall.
The back is smocked so it really cinches you in at the waist! Lastly, I have a striped dress. Black and white stripes are a pattern than can be worn all year long. This dress is a true wrap and I’m wearing a small.
Throw on a denim jacket for chilly fall nights! Mine is super old but I linked a similar one at Old Navy.
Okay, wow. That’s everything guys! I really enjoyed pairing new finds with old wardrobe staples that I’ve had forever. Remember, don’t put those summer clothes away so fast! Play with your shoes and add booties to a summer look or wear your long sleeve shirts with some distressed denim shorts. And don’t underestimate the power of a long line cardigan or a denim jacket. Thanks for stopping by!
